Use Giveaways To Bring Traffic to Your Site

Have you thought of using giveaways to bring traffic to your site?

You don't have to give away the store to make this work, but give your visitor something they will find of value. Enough value that they will take the time to complete the opt-in box on your site.

Grocery stores and other retailers have been doing it for years: They use a seriously reduced price on a few items, called loss leaders, to get customers in the door. The thinking, of course, is that you'll come in for asparagus that's on sale and wind up buying the rest of your groceries there too.

Or how about a discount at the gas pump? When I save 20-30 cents a gallon, I'm motivated to shop at that particular grocery store on a regular basis!

Online giveaways can be even simpler or more cost-effective. Some ideas…

• An eBook Consider writing a short pamphlet or ebook to offer if they visit your site and opt-in for the ebook. While it may not take long to prepare the ebook, be sure to value-driven information that your potential customer will want.

• Offer a checklist on a topic valuable to your customer, i.e., a checklist for new parents on childproofing their home. Any new parent, grandparent, or other caregivers would find the safety tips helpful.

• Offer a coupon for free or discounted products or services… a 30-minute strategy call, for example.

• Another option is a contest. Bloggers can compete on say publishing ten articles on a relevant topic in a month, or kids can enter a poster contest about something in your niche. Select the top three, award them with fun prizes, and post the winners on your site.

Those are just a few incentive ideas.

And with the name and email address they provide in exchange for your free give-away, you have a way to keep in touch with your website visitors.

Once they've visited your site and see the value you provide, they will more than likely go from visitors to loyal followers.

You get the picture. Attract more traffic to your site by offering a free giveaway in exchange for their email address. Make the gift something worthwhile that will entice them to become regular customers. It's as simple as clicking a button.
